The courses

How do the classes run?
All classes are for two hours; students work through projects designed by Tony to allow students to build up confidence in working with clay whilst gaining an understanding of design and techniques. Once your work is complete it will be fired in the school’s kiln to then allow you to glaze and complete your pots for you to take home.
Classes run on a rolling programme to suit everyone’s needs allowing students to work at their own pace.

What do I need
Everything is provided for you, your fee covers tuition, materials, and firing your work. Aprons and tools are all available for your use. There is a toilet in the studio by the way,
Parking is usually outside on Low Road, if there are no spaces there is a car park just round the corner.

How much does it cost
The fee for the four classes of two hours each is £150.00 payable in advance, bank credit, cash or cheques all accepted.
If a student would like to continue after their first four classes, they are welcome to do so. (95% of new students do continue, resulting in a very busy pottery school). Spaces do of course become available, but many students find they enjoy the classes and friendship gained from their class they will often stay for several years.

If you’re interested
Tony encourages new students to come along to see the studio and have an informal chat just to see if it’s going to suit. This is done when a class is running to also allow a new prospective student to have a chat with existing students.

Gybo, Tony’s much loved cocker spaniel reminds everyone when its teatime with uncanny accuracy when tea and coffee is served with chocolate biscuits! Gybo is very much part of the pottery school scene and although now blind he still likes to wait to greet his students with a wagging tail.
