Tony Carter pottery school

what students say...

Joining a group of experienced potters can be a daunting experience for a complete beginner, however, Tony and his class make one feel very welcome. Due to other commitments, I was only able to attend the initial 4 sessions but I was able to experience slab work and throwing along with glazing. I look forward to returning at a later date.

I have been working and learning pottery work from Tony for over 2 years now - I must say I get through the week only looking forward to my two hours most wonderful hours. We learn from an amazing teacher, make pieces which are a testament to his patience with his students, enjoy a cup of tea with a biscuit and most of all develop friendships. It’s by far the most relaxing learning experience. Thank You Tony and Gybo for welcoming me to the studio.

I have been lucky enough to attend Tony’s class weekly for the past year and I enjoy it every single week. Tony is a great teacher, very patient and caring about each of his pupils and their work. I have learnt so much since starting and continue to develop my skills and confidence during each project.
I can’t recommend Tony’s classes highly enough.

My husband bought me a 4 week pottery course as a birthday gift. I am still attending the school 18 months later. I have learned many pottery techniques, especially the need to take my time if I want to produce something worthwhile. Tony is always very positive and encouraging, but doesn't let us get away with poor work! Above all I find my two hour session very therapeutic; concentrating on potting and leaving anything on my mind at the door and enjoying being with a lovely group.
